two weeks later. as i look back at these pictures, not only do i miss my sweet niece, but i'm amazed by the children, clad in shorts and t-shirts and tank tops - averee and gramma d were really blessed with some fantastic summer weather!
we've gone from layers to swimsuits in a matter of hours, and while i'm never one to complain about the weather, it's just been really hard to keep up with mother nature's sense of humor this year.
but, i take it as it comes. if it's raining, we have our xtra-tufs and umbrellas on hand. breezy? well, there's always an extra sweatshirt (or 3) looming in the truck. if it gets too sticky, we're not afraid to go without a shirt. ok, so that rule applies only to tiny humans under 5. and if that's not enough, i always have an extra outfit for each child on hand. you just never know...
on this day, it reached 60 degrees. my kiddos usually get a little red-cheeked in that sort of weather - they're alaskan through and through. i kept chuckling at averee complaining about the cold. by the end of our park visits, (yes, there were two) she had peeled off her sweatshirt and was very interested in taking a dip in lake lucille. a few more visits to see her cousins, and she'd fit right in.
come back soon, averee!
Annie, you are livin the dream, for sure. What a great way to raise kids. You are an inspiration.
