she's two.

i'm in shock that i'm writing this post.  it's surreal that two years have passed.  like every birthday of my children, i can't help but relive each moment like it was ____ years ago.  so today, i replayed all the silliness of back then - trying to convince myself i wasn't in labor; contractions that numbed my legs and took my breath away; painting my nails as a way of distraction; ben asking if he had time to take a shower as i was loading myself into the truck... oh, goodness.

so with dylan's birthday falling on a week day, we decided to make the most of it even with dada away at work.  we met up with our play date friends, mimi and gaige, at bouncin' bears.  and if i would have planned it better, the stop at beary cool frozen yogurt that followed would have been our first stop!

ahhh!  my girl, roberta, is so dang thoughtful.  dylan was so tickled by her own PASTEL dump truck!  i have had my eye on this truck numerous times and always held back from buying it.  don't you love it when stuff like that happens?  thank you, roberta, mimi & gaige!

after dinner (homemade macaroni & cheese, salad and my version of "fried" chicken), but before brownies & ice cream, we decided dylan's birthday night would be the perfect time for dyeing eggs.  i thought this was a great idea; jack had other plans, and well, you know two year olds, they have the attention span of a housefly.

ben and i quickly hustled through it because someone, i won't name names, was over the birthday celebrations.  you'll see who, below...

tonight, we lost track of the time outs.
but dang, thank you, sean, for capturing this gem...
 future photog
(that's my camera from when i was itty like her)
she got the funniest, sheepish look on her face while we sang to her.
such a little goof ball, she is.

 love her clapping.

happy birthday, dylan june.
you are SO loved.

    1. LOL. it was really out of control. and he HATES hairbrushes, and he said every morning,"i sure need a haircut." so... it was time. i'm still not used to it though. i thought he'd look older but he looks so little! or maybe it's just that i'm reminded of when his hair was short last summer.
