blueberry picking

after talking about it and talking about it, i worked up the courage to leave the comfort of my bed.  again, pushing myself to get out and enjoy what was left of our autumn, my mom suggested blueberry picking.  so on an unusually blue-skied day in august, we made the drive up to hatcher pass.

the last time i went blueberry picking, i was pregnant with dylan, walked 12 miles round trip (carrying jb most of the way) and really regretted that decision by day's end.  we were not to push ourselves this time.  duey's little legs, her incredibly old gramma (ha, kidding mom!  your phrase, not mine!) and my weeks pregnant self - we kept our eyes on the hillside, peeping for the perfect spot to make a jaunt up hill, and just like that, we didn't even have to walk a mile off of reed lakes trail.

dylan's not a team player.  she didn't get the memo: some berries need to make it into the container.  it was, like, three for duey, one for bucket.  that's ok though.  her first blueberry picking and the girl did pretty well.  bellyful of blueberries?  there could be worse things.

 forever blowing smooches

anyone know what kind of berries these are?
gosh, i'm madly in love with her and her singing.
 look at that whopper!
and of course, it ended up in her mouf.
our haul.
all clean and ready for muffins/pancakes/freezing!
