a few weeks ago, benji and some work friends flew down to kodiak for a deer hunt. they stayed in a nice lodge, had home-cooked meals and their laundry washed by the time they returned... kinda like all the comforts of home. unfortunately, their weather was a lot like ours back in the valley: extreme winds (60-70 mph), cold and a snowy, blizzard mess. ben shot his buck a mere 4 hours after landing at the lodge and that would be the only one taken for the next 5 days. quite the bummer. but, i know the guys all enjoyed their time off from work (but man, we sure missed him!).
jb understood that dada was deer hunting and would be gone for a few days. so when our countdown was only one more day!, i suggested we make a welcome home sign for dada. (jack suggested a stop sign...) once i got it hung, the kids were so tickled by it, they kept walking through the arch, while looking up and laughing at it. jack even said he liked it so much that i wanna knock it down wif my truck! goofball.
when we finally heard the garage door open, dylan sprinted (ok, more like a scamper) down the hallway and was literally trying to climb up the door. dada ripped open the door, and immediately, she went into a barrage of dadas and hiyeeees. her adoration for my man truly melts me... and i think i'm losing ben to her too!
i think dyl missed dada.
