funk.

when i can't explain what's going on, i usually have no problem blogging it out.  right now though, i just need to give it more time.  i think that's why i've steered clear of the blogspot for the past few weeks.  i've been in a funk, but i'm forcing myself to blog about what's good.  because let's face it, there are sooo many more blessings in my life than there is sadness.  (it's just easier to get caught up in misery sometimes, huh?!)

moving on, there has been some progress to the shop.  a lot of it though has been minimal through the camera's lens.  additional walls here and there.  stairs and a mezzanine.  iron beams.  ok, so i guess that is significant progress, but up until tonight, i wasn't seeing huge enough improvements to constitute a blog.

we've also been enjoying the rain and the sunshine.  i even have the tan lines to show for it, thanks to yesterday's 70 degree day.  summer's in alaska.  while you don't always get 60+ degrees, you do get reprieve from the cold and snow.  that's all i'm after.  anything above 50+ degrees should be considered bonus.  after all, when i need some heat, i seek out the islands...

we've been busy.  we've had play dates with friendly friends.  we've ran through sprinklers and splashed in the water table.  skinned palms and knees, devoured numerous otter pops and have mosquito bites on top of mosquito bites to show for all our outside play.  and you wanna know the best part about all this?
today is only the first day of summer.

joy.  happy summer solstice!  i know a group of kiddos that couldn't be more thrilled!

look at dylan, screaming directing orders, and jb, and he's just smiling it off.
wow.
they learn young, i tell ya.
it's in our genes!
