on friday evening, we met up my father and sue for a picnic dinner and a playground romp. we already had a full day at the mall, another play date with some friends - all without proper naps - but there's always time for grandparents. and, more than anyone, those types of people understand that kiddos aren't necessarily always on their best behavior. so, the perfect resolution to ensure happy kids is a free-roam dinner and plenty of equipment to climb. can you tell that burning energy is the key with my babes?
this would be our last chance to visit and with the looming goodbye hugs and kisses, the evening felt a little somber to me. that's what i love about pictures though. looking back, i don't feel that, but at the time, it was weighing on me.
get togethers with my parents are never long enough. i dream of days where there are no longer visits and just an ok, see you tomorrow! or hey, you wanna come over for dinner? type of scenarios. maybe one day, but until then, i'll keep it in my daydreams...
