sculpture garden

we took off early one morning to play at the minneapolis sculpture garden.  i hadn't been there in likely 20 years.  i remember thinking the spoon was ginormous.  in actuality, i was underwhelmed.  but, i guess that's the way things go as you get older.  growing up, my cousins had this stuffed dinosaur that we would ride on, like, 3 of us at a time.  i was reintroduced to the dinosaur a few years back, and i nearly spit out my drink when i saw it - the giant dinosaur was nothing more than an armful of stuffing!  (and how great that my aunt and uncle have held onto that gem!)  however, in pictures, especially with my kiddos in the foreground, it does remind me of being so teeny next to something so grand - and yet so odd at the same time.  but, that's art, and i love it.

while we were parking, the raindrops sprinkled down.  by the time we reached spoonbridge & cherry, we could barely distinguish between the drizzle and the fountain from the cherry stem.  regardless, we enjoyed the brief cooling off the rain provided on that rather sticky morning.

 d showing gramma the spoon
just incase she missed it...

 gramma so pretty
baby d - you crack me up!

to the right of the spoon, there were these stairs, calling out to my children.  like magnets to metal, they just couldn't help themselves from being drawn to the staircase.  and to their greater amazement, at the top, a seemingly endless bridge to scurry across, back and forth, side-to-side.  i think gramma d was moments from heart failure, seeing her precious grandbabes peek out over the major interstate, but the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves...

i wanna know where the horse is that she came in on...

happy feet!

i no like take pictures.
