labor day at the fair

the day following our return from minnesota was labor day - the last day of the fair.  i really love our state fair.  even though the kids and i had already gone, i knew it was important to go with dada.  he gets into the rides and the carnival games, and i didn't want him to miss seeing the smiles on the kid's faces.

it was a chilly fall-like day, and the kids were more than happy to be clad in sweatshirts and jeans, with a slight chilly breeze on their faces.  nothing like going from 90 degree weather to the 50s in one swoop!  but, hey - they're alaskans, no doubt about it.

fire truck!

won't eat rice krispie treats because they're too sticky,
but he'll touch a gnarly pig nose...

 sooo true.

dyl missed out.  next time, boo.  we promise.

 hi, mama!
2nd face painting in a week!

ok, besides mcqueen, does it really surprise you???
 dada and the kids
