what a FUN hike. this was a tad more strenuous than the eklutna lake hike but certainly not as bad as climbing the butte - i think pushing 30+ pounds is easier than carrying it. we set out on a gorgeous, blue-skied day and made the turn into eklutna where the fog was just waiting for us, ha! thankfully though, once we got back in there, the sun peeked through the trees as often as possible. it was just the perfect fall day.
