we've been wanting to get jackie some fish since his 2nd birthday. i think being pregnant and feeling like i didn't need one more thing to take care of, we easily put this task off. so with jack being older and more responsible (ha!), we thought we'd do this special little gift for him this year.
jack named his fish this afternoon, and in no particular order, they are:
- dan (after dump truck dan from the jack truck book series)
- jack truck (naturally)
- sailboat
- manny (after handy manny)
- bob (after bob the builder)
he's a riot. we set up the tank on monday but had to wait a few days to introduce the fish to their new home. initially, he was completely enamored by the tank but within minutes, completely over it. but today, when he woke up from his nap, his fish were waiting for him, and he met them with a gasp.
the 5 goldfish are as cute as jack's toes. i couldn't tell one from the next and thankfully so. goldfish don't have a terribly long lifeline and at ten cents a tail, i'll easily be able to replace dan or bob or manny. i just don't think i'm quite ready for the heaven talk with my dear jackie. just couldn't quite face those tear-filled brown eyes.
