happy birthday, dear benji.

ben turned thirty at the beginning of the month.  we celebrated with gifts before the big road trip, but we saved the candles and cake for his special day.

 jack loves the happy birthday song, so we indulged and sang it over and over (and over and over!) relighting the candles each time.  finally, we moved the 3 to jack's slice of cheesecake, reliving his past birthday.  i hope he always loves his birthday as much as he does now.  the smiles we get out of him are unparalleled!  and, how special that he already knows to turn off the lights to sing and blow out the candles.  kids, they learn quick!
