a million years ago

once upon a time and not too long ago, we found ourselves vacationing in san diego.  jack full of zest, mr. dada full of excitement and wonder, and me, well, full of our unnamed daughter.  i was 7 months pregnant when we took a babymoon down south.  we visited zoos and sea world, pacific beach and sushi restaurants.  we walked to get our morning lattes and drove around on countless tanks of fuel.  we also journeyed down to the border, where (we were told) the best outlet malls were located.  dada scooped up some new sneakers, jackie got loaded up on new tees and hoodies, and the baby... well, she got hooked up!

if you follow my blog, you know my love for consignment, sales and planning ahead.  and, while i wasn't consignment shopping near tijuana, i did stock up on jammies and onesies for our baby girl.  this seems like ages ago, too.  if you asked me what sizes i bought, i couldn't tell you.  but, the fact that she is now wearing a set of jammies that i thought would forever be too big; it's just crazy.

like i said, i forever keep both kid's closets stocked with clothes at least 2 sizes too big.  so, they always have a stack and hanging items just waiting to be grown into.  it's odd enough that my baby boy has clothes in 5t with the tags on, but pulling a pair of jammies from dylan's pile and seeing that they fit perfectly, aren't even a little big, it's blowing my mind!

it's the old cliche, it goes so fast.  i am one more sucker to confirm this!  you kinda think your babe is always gonna be that little.  there are those times when you just wanna fast forward through the whininess and sleepless nights.  (but how sweet is it comforting your little bubba when they've woke from a scawy dweam?!)  jack's always been a great sleeper and d is no different.  jack has grown so much in this past year; a complete 180* from the craziness of 2010.  and dylan?  she's such a little lady.  loves dollies and blankies, jack's buddies (i guess she needs her own...), her dada and nana are some of her favorite people; she follows me like a little pooch and gives kisses even with the muuuaaahh! sound.  she gives hugs, waves good night and blows kisses bye-bye.  and, she's got all of us wrapped around her finger.  it's so incredible how a teeny little human can move you to love so much.  that not knowing of how am i gonna love another baby as much as the first?  not even an issue.

here are the jammies purchased a million years ago...
