this year was just as much fun, maybe a little more. we joined our favorite playmates, the niessink's, and frolicked around palmer, taking in it's glorious views. first stop: the pony rides. it's incredible what a difference a year makes. if i ever write a book, that should be the title since i'm forever comparing where we were this time last year... small sidenote: this time last year, i had put jb into school since i couldn't handle him at home any longer. i was overwhelmed with infant #2 and being bullied by infant #1. now, look how far we've come! sweet jb has returned, no more hitting, biting, slapping, screaming, defiant, naughty (ok, well we're working on it) potty trained, using lots of words and sentences, like this recent fav: oh, mama. i luf duey SO MUCH. duey's SO pwetty! but, i digress. last year, jb spilled some tears on the pony ride but this year: i'ma excited, mama!
smiley kiddos
gah! getting peed on really makes the experience.
after the pee pee pony, we ambled over to the jumpy/bouncer/kid zone. as much as roberta and i could have shopped and gazed and meandered through all the fun crafts and "food" stuffs, we are not in charge.
these three and a half foot, opinionated rebels tell us what's really up. but sweetly. most of the time. ok, so maybe there's a little more whine in their voice than we'd like. (and yes, i can speak for my girlfriend on this.) ah! ok, bouncing... we discovered a new "ride" this year. or, maybe it was there last year, but the babes were too little. can'trememberdoesn'tmatter.
weeeee!
mimi's turn
keepin a close eye on his girl
gaige's turn
such expression!
bounce house fun
hey man-child, keep your mitts off my boy!
oooh, back in!
had to get his gang
these kids love them some bouncers!
oh, yes. dil was there too.
she just kept to the stroller, makin grizzly bear faces
we saved the last little hurrah for face painting. as much as i attempted to sell face painting to jackie, he wanted nothing to do with it. he watched mimi and then gaige, and as a last effort of you sure you don't want a caterpillar or a firetruck or a spider? he shot down every option with a no, shank you, mama. but, what do you know, a mile down the road, and the kid's asking for face sprinkles. can't win 'em all...
fun paintings for the niessink kiddos
oh, wait. i lied. the LAST hurrah was the umbrellas. found by roberta. enjoyed by all.
(so far, no one's lost an eye...)
the next gene kelly, i'm sure of it.
cuteness! mama-mimi moment!
